Weekend Preview 4/5 June

TPL
Khon Kaen v Bangkok Glass
Chonburi v Muangthong
Sisaket v Buriram PEA
Police v Thai Port
Army v Pattaya
Chiang Rai v TOT
BEC Tero v Osotspa Saraburi
Sriracha v TTM Pichit
Samut Songkram v Siam Navy

It’s a busy Saturday this weekend as all the TPL games will be played on this day. I’m not sure of the reason why though.
Obviously the top game on Saturday will be between Thailand’s 2 AFC CUP representatives, Chonburi and Muangthong United. The home side has picked up 22 out of a possible 24 points at home while MTU have only gathered a disappointing 5 points on their travels. That form should indicate a home win, but I can see it possibly being a draw.
On form Bangkok Glass travel to out-of-sorts Khon Kaen and will see this game as very winnable. Police and Thai Port will clash at the Thammasart Stadium in Pathumthani.  Police will look to bounce back from their 5-3 loss to BG last week but they will be aware of the fact that their recent record against Thai Port isn’t very good.
Army United are still unbeaten at home and they will be confident of keeping that record intact with the visit of an inconsistent Pattaya side. Likewise BEC Tero will be confident of beating Osotspa M150 at the Thephasadin Stadium.  TOT must bear their second long trip in a week with a journey up to Chiang Rai.

Division 1
Customs v Bkk United
Chantaburi v JW Rangsit
Saraburi v RBAC
Chainat v Suphanburi
Bangkok FC v PTT Rayong
Thai Honda v Songkla
Chiang Mai v Raj Pracha
Buriram FC v BBCU
Air Force v Phuket

Division 1’s top two clash at Thunder Castle on Sunday. Buriram and BBCU have governed the league so far this season.  BBCU still remain undefeated and Buriram have only one loss to their name. It’s a tough game to call. If I had to predict a winner, I’d stick my neck out for Buriram as they have home advantage, but a low scoring draw is most likely.
Bangkok United could go third if they can win away at Customs. For this to happen, they’d also need Suphanburi to stop Chainat from winning. The other promotion candidates, Songkla, visit struggling Thai Honda.

Division 2 (Bangkok)
Raj Vithi v Assumption Thonburi
Thai Fleet v NSRU
Kasem Bundit v Samut Prakarn United
Jamjuree v Mapthaput Rayong
Globex v Kasetsart
Thai Airways Luk Issan v Prachinburi
Nontaburi v Thayaburi Asia United
North Bangkok FC v Bangkok Christian
The top 2 of North Bangkok and Raj Vithi have winnable home games while 3rd placed, Kasetsart travel across Bangkok to play Globex at Ramkhamhaeng University.
