Thailand's New Head Coach - Winfried Schaefer

Thailand have appointed Winfried Schaefer as their new head coach. He has been given a 3 year contract by the FAT.

The 61 year old German made over 200 league appearances for Borussia Mönchengladbach during their golden era of the 70's and early 80's.

According to wikipedia, he has coached German sides Borussia Mönchengladbach, Karlsrhue and VFB Stuttgart. His greatest coaching achievement to date is winning the African Nations Cup in 2002 with Cameroon. Schaefer's last coaching appointment was with FK Baku of Azerbaijan. His contract was ended in January of this year after only 6 months in charge.
