Thai Port Coach is Buriram Bound

Sasom Pobpraserd (the-afc.com)
Sasom Pobpraserd, the coach of TPL side Thai Port, is leaving his position and has signed a 2-year contract to coach Division 1 side Buriram FC. Rumour has it that Port players Jirawat, Sompong, Ekkachai and Alef will follow him to Issan when the mid-season break begins. Apparently, Buriram will pay 20M baht for the lot.

Sasom has previously coached at BEC Tero and won the 2009 FA Cup, and 2010 League Cup with Thai Port.

For Sasom, I don't really blame him for taking the job. In fact he's stuck around at Thai Port while all the bickering behind the scenes has been going on when most would have jumped ship already. At Buriram he won't have to deal with in-house disputes, and I'm sure he'll be taken care of financially; both on and off the field.

His last 2 games at the helm of Thai Port will be against Police Utd and Khon Kaen.

Personally, I'd be seething if I was Buriram FC's current coach, Chaiyong Khumpiam. His side have only lost once this season and currently sit 2nd in the first division. They are well on course for promotion to the TPL.

He's been offered a role coaching the Thai under16's. People will try and say it's a step up for him but we all know it isn't!!
