Weekend Results 20 - 21 August

TPL
TOT 1-3 Muangthong
Osotspa 1-0 Bangkok Glass
TTM Pichit 1-0 Chonburi
Samut Songkram 1-1 Police
Navy 2-1 Khon Kaen
Army 0-1 Thai Port
Buriram PEA 0-0 Pattaya
Sisaket 0-0 Chiang Rai
Sriracha v BEC Tero (Playing Monday)

Muangthong United were the biggest benefactors this weekend as they cashed in on two unexpected results for the top 2 sides. PEA were surprisingly held to a stalemate by Pattaya while Chonburi lost 1-0 at TTM. The Kirins 3-1 win at neighboring TOT lifted them into second place above Chonburi and helped them reduce the gap on leaders PEA to 6 points.
Bangkok Glass continue to frustrate on the road as they put in another inept performance at Osotspa Saraburi. Thai Port edged out Army Utd 1-0 and Police United ended their 6 game losing streak with a useful point at Samut Songkram.
BEC Tero will face a tough battle at Sriracha this evening.

Division 1
SP Customs 2-3 Raj Pracha
Bangkok FC 1-2 Chantaburi
Chiang Mai 2-2 Buriram FC
RBAC 0-1 Phuket
JW Rangsit 1-3 BBCU
PTT Rayong 2-1 Air Force
Songkla 1-0 Chainat
Bangkok Utd 1-2 Suphanburi
Thai Honda v Saraburi (Tuesday)

The 1st division has new leaders as BBCU scored 3 goals in 3 second half minutes to come from behind to win 3-1 at JW Rangsit. They overtook Buriram FC as they drew 2-2 with Chiang Mai.
The number 21 is usually a number to be associated with celebrations but in the case of Bangkok United their 21st winless game in Din Daeng means the only "key to the door" they'll be receiving this year will be the one that will keep them locked in Division 1 for another term.
At this moment in time, Bangkok United's namesakes, Bangkok FC, would be delighted to remain in the first division next season. Their 5th consecutive defeat has visits to Kasem Bundit and Assumption Thonburi next season looming distinctly on the horizon.
Raj Pracha scored 2 late goals to win 3-2 at the Forza Stadium. Air Force lost at PTT Rayong and RBAC were beaten 1-0 by Phuket.

Division 2 (Bangkok)
Kasem Bundit 1-2 Kasetsart
Nontaburi 1-1 Bkk Christian
Thai Airways Luk Issan 1-2 Thayaburi Asia Utd
Globex 2-0 Assumption Thonburi
Raj Vithi 1-0 Mapthaput Rayong
Thai Fleet v Prachinburi (Monday)
Jamjuree v NSRU (Playing 31st Aug)
Samut Prakarn Utd v North Bangkok (Playing 1st Sept)

Kasetsart moved 4 points clear at the top as they won 2-1 at Kasem Bundit. Sunday's scheduled game between Samut Prakarn United and North Bangkok was shifted to 1st September for some reason. Raj Vithi moved into third place with a narrow 1-0 home victory.
