Weekend Preview 20-23 August

TPL
TOT v Muangthong (Sat)
Osotspa v Bangkok Glass (Sat)
TTM Pichit v Chonburi (Sat)
Samut Songkram v Police (Sat)
Navy v Khon Kaen (Sun)
Army v Thai Port (Sun)
Buriram PEA v Pattaya (Sun)
Sisaket v Chiang Rai (Sun)
Sriracha v BEC Tero

It's been a disappointing start to the second leg of the season for most of the Bangkok based TPL sides. Army Utd have only picked up one point since the season recommenced while Thai Port have played 3, lost 3. These two sides meet on Sunday and both will be aspiring to build on good midweek cup results. Police Utd have now lost 6 in a row and they have a decent chance of ending that unwanted sequence at struggling Samut Songkram.
Muangthong Utd will make the short 5km trip along Chaeng Wattana Road to face TOT. It is geographically a derby but I'm sure most of the MTU Ultras won't class neighboring TOT as derby material. TOT's performances have improved lately and I feel their luck will turn sooner, rather than later. Bangkok Glass travel up to Saraburi to face Osotspa and the Glass Rabbits will want to erase the memory of last season's heavy defeat.
The Sriracha v BEC Tero was scheduled for Saturday but has been moved to another date as BEC Tero will play Buriram PEA in the Toyota League Cup this evening. The game will most likely take place next Monday or Tuesday evening.

Division 1
SP Customs v Raj Pracha (Sat)
Bangkok FC v Chantaburi (Sat)
Chiang Mai v Buriram FC (Sat)
RBAC v Phuket (Sun)
JW Rangsit v BBCU (Sun)
PTT Rayong v Air Force (Sun)
Songkla v Chainat (Sun)
Bangkok Utd v Suphanburi (Sun)
Thai Honda v Saraburi (Tues)

The Pink Power of BBCU have stuttered lately and they need to get their promotion push back on track. The short trip up to JW Rangsit gives them an ideal opportunity to collect all 3 points. Bangkok United have lost 3 on the trot in the league and still have the 20 game winless hoodoo of the Thai Japanese Stadium looming over them. This Sunday it's the turn of Suphanburi to enter the Din Daeng arena.
On Saturday, on form Customs take on Raj Pracha while off form Bangkok FC meet Chantaburi.
On the following day, Phuket play their 3rd consecutive league game in the capital as they travel to RBAC. Air Force have a difficult match down at PTT Rayong.
This round of fixtures will be wrapped up on Tuesday when Thai Honda play Saraburi. This game was shifted to Tuesday due to some activities taking place at the local technology school this weekend.

Division 2 (Bangkok)
Kasem Bundit v Kasetsart (Sat)
Nontaburi v Bkk Christian (Sat)
Thai Airways Luk Issan v Thayaburi Asia Utd (Sun)
Samut Prakarn Utd v North Bangkok (Sun)
Globex v Assumption Thonburi (Sun)
Raj Vithi v Mapthaput Rayong (Sun)
Jamjuree v NSRU (Sun)
Thai Fleet v Prachinburi (Mon)

Third placed Samut Prakarn take on second placed North Bangkok in the top clash of Division 2 Bangkok this weekend. A win for the Crab Devils would lift them above North Bangkok into second place. Kasetsart should be able to take advantage of their immediate rivals meeting as they have a winnable game at Kasem Bundit.
