Army Utd 1-1 Suphanburi

The Tatong family would have been delighted that both brothers, Wuttichai and Chainarong, were on the score sheet, and that honors were shared at the Royal Thai Army Stadium between Army United and Suphanburi.

It was a bright opening to the match with both sides knocking the ball about confidently after good recent results.

Army had the best chance of the first half when Ngeneve had to be alert to clear the ball off the line after a Mongkol header had deflected off the post.

Three minutes after the interval, Wuttichai Tatong opened the scoring after a pass from the middle of the park set him on his way to score.

Boskovic and Castillo had chances to double the lead for the Suphanblood, but it was Army who were applying most of the pressure albeit with some wayward finishing in front of goal.

Just as it appeared that the hosts were running out of ideas, Anuwat set up Chainarong to fire into the roof of the net to level matters in the 81st minute.

Bireme Diouf could have won it late on, but his cross come shot was mopped up by Daniel Blanco.

The draw moves Suphanburi back into second place and takes their unbeaten run to seven games. Army are now five without a loss and sit in sixth place just behind the big boys.

Army United 6-0 Bangkok United

Army United thumped Bangkok United 6-0 to win the Din Daeng derby.

The visitors conceded their first goal on five minutes after Jung Myung-Oh sidestepped a defender and let rip from 25 yards. The Korean's shot rebounded off the bar and Anuwat was on hand to net.

Five minutes later, a Lindemann corner from the right was flicked on by Tatree, and Chaiwat headed home for the second.

Bangkok United's closest effort of the game came on 18 minutes after a neat flick up by Gasmi allowed him to shoot from 25 yards, but his effort hit the base of the post.

Army were comfortably on top and Chainarong swivelled to find the bottom corner to convert a Lindemann slide rule pass on the half hour.

In all fairness, Bangkok United had their share of chances in the first hour, but the stuffing was knocked out of them when Mongkol converted Adisorn's square pass in the 73rd minute.

It was then just a matter of "how many" as Bangkok United wilted. Yet again Adisorn was allowed acres of space to burst down the right flank, and his cross was clipped home by Chainarong at the near post for his second of the night and Army's fifth.

With injury time approaching, Tatree finally go into the act knocking in a square pass from Lindemann to complete the rout.

It was an accomplished, professional performance from Army and at times their attacking play was outstanding. The only player who didn't impress me tonight was Mbuta.

On the other side of the coin, Bangkok United were awful and abject at the back and if they want to stay up they have to make themselves hard to beat. If they keep playing a back 4 with Prakasit, Mario, Gilson and Pongpipat, then they will be relegated in my opinion. As usual Romain Gasmi was United's most potent attacking threat and they'll need him to stay fit.

Bangkok United 1-1 BBCU

The spoils were shared in the Din Daeng derby as Bangkok United and BBCU fought out a 1-1 draw.

BBCU played an hour of the game with only 10 players after Issawa was sent off for receiving two yellow cards. Out of the two teams, the Pink Power will be happier with the point from this match.

The first half was a stop-start niggly affair. BBCU could have been reduced to 10 men on 20 minutes. BBCU's left back Adun didn't like a challenge made by Korean, Jang Gil Hyeok, and he reacted by swinging at him. The ref yellow carded both players although by the letter of the law, Adun should have gone for an early bath.

Ten minutes later though, BBCU were reduced to 10 players. Issawa had picked up an earlier yellow card and a lunging tackle brought him a second caution. The former Thai internationalist didn't agree with the decision though. It took him a couple of minutes to leave the field as he wanted to vent his anger in the direction of the referee and the Bangkok Utd players. Considering he's played more than 20 games for the national team, he's reaction was rather petulant.

Despite only having 10 men, BBCU took the lead as the half time interval approached. By this time, it was pissing down and that certainly played a factor in the opening goal. An in swinging free kick from the right slipped out of United's keeper's grasp, and the dropped ball was bundled into the net by Kobenan Lion.

The downpour continued during the break and by the time the second half resumed the pitch was soaking wet.

The rain eventually did subside and on the hour Bangkok United were level. A shot from 25 yards out by Romain Gasmi took a deflection and beat Jean Marc Beyeme in the BBCU goal.

A couple of minutes later, the influencial Frenchman tried a long range shot from just inside the BBCU half that went inches over the bar.

Zico getting soaked

Kiatisuk Senamuang, or Zico to you and me, had surprisingly left top goal scorers Chainarong and Justine Uche Prince on the bench.

Chainarong did eventually enter the play and within a couple of minutes of his introduction, he could have scored. He was inches away from tapping in a sweeping cross from the left.

Tomas Kozer thought he had scored the winner with 10 minutes to go, but the Slovenian failed to notice the offside flag that had been raised by the linesman.

The game finished 1-1 and it's now 22 games since Bangkok United won at the Thai Japanese Stadium. They had the better of the second half, but couldn't break down the away sides resilient defending. When will the curse of the Thai Yeepun Stadium end?

BBCU 2-1 FC Phuket

BBCU came back from a goal down to beat FC Phuket 2-1.

It's Raining Again

It was a lively start to the game and the home side blew a golden opportunity to take the lead within 2 minutes when Malick pulled his shot wide after being put clean through on the keeper.

As the rain swept into the stadium, both sides created chances in the first half. BBCU had had most of the possession and forced several corners while Phuket's free flowing passing made them a dangerous prospect on the break.

There were no goals in the first half, but that changed one minute into the second half. The home side went behind when Phuket's left-midfielder, Poramat, volleyed from inside the box for the opener.

BBCU increased the pressure for an equalizer and were rewarded when Chainarong drilled a free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards out.

By this time BBCU were on top and with about 20 minutes left on the clock Wattanasap swiveled to divert the ball past Matijas in the Phuket goal. From the angle I saw the goal, I think the keeper should have done better.

Once Phuket went behind they never really threatened to draw level as BBCU held out comfortably to claim 3 points.
