Penalty Joy as Buriram Beat Brisbane Roar

Siwaruck was the hero of the day, saving three penalties as Buriram United beat Brisbane Roar 3-0 in a penalty shoot-out after both sides couldn't break the deadlock during 120 minutes of action. The Thai side enjoyed the Lion's share of possession and chances over the piece against a lackluster looking Brisbane Roar.

Shockingly there was no TV coverage of the game on terrestrial TV or on True Visions, so the only option for watching the game in Thailand for armchair viewers was on a choppy Internet stream which basically meant writing a proper match report was a non-starter.

Anyway now that Buriram United have qualified for the group stages they'll face FC Seoul, Vegalta Sendai and Jiangsu Sainty in Group E. The schedule for Buriram United is as follows:

26 Feb - Vegalta Sendai (A)
12 Mar - FC Seoul (H)
02 Apr - Jiangsu Sainty (A)
10 Apr - Jiangsu Sainty (H)
24 Apr - Vegalta Sendai (H)
01 May - FC Seoul (A)

Before Buriram United can embark on their latest AFC Champions League adventure, they will take on Nagoya Grampus in the Toyota Premier Cup at the Supachalasai on Saturday. Kick off 4.15pm.

On the following weekend they'll be back in Bangkok to battle with Muangthong United for the Kor Royal Cup. This game is currently scheduled for the Rajamangala Stadium on 23 February with a 5pm start.
