Lebanon 5-2 Thailand

Thailand's hopes of qualifying for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup in Australia lie in tatters after they suffered a 5-2 loss in Lebanon.
Not Going!!

The makeshift Thai side were behind after only six minutes when Hassan Chaito's shot went through Sivarak's legs.

The same man then doubled the lead before Mohammed Haider's deflected shot made it 3-0 on the half hour mark.

The only moment of cheer for the Thais in the first half came when Sivarak continued his hot penalty saving streak by blocking Hassan Maatouk's weak effort.

Shortly after the interval, Tittiphan gave Thailand a glimmer of hope when he pulled a goal back to reduce the deficit.

The Thai side continued to attack but where dealt a blow on 72 minutes when Maatouk rounded Sivarak to put the game to bed.

Tittiphan grabbed his second goal of the game to pull one back for Thailand before Abbis Ali Atwi restored the three goal cushion in the dying moments.

Thailand's next game is against Iran in October and it seems inevitable that Winnie Schafer won't be at the helm of the Thai ship for this journey.

Whoever is in charge will have a monumental task trying to salvage anything out of this group. Thailand have zero points from two attempts, and next up are back to back matches with group favourites Iran.
