Weekend Preview - 9/10 July

FA Cup
Samut Songkram v Chantaburi (Sat)
Osotspa Saraburi v Police Utd (Sat)
Muangthong v Samut Prakarn Utd (Sun)
Buriram PEA v PTT Rayong (Sun)
TTM Pichit v Chonburi (Sun)
Thai Port v Bangkok Glass (Sun)
Rayong FC v BEC Tero (Sun)

The pick of the FA Cup ties this weekend will be at the PAT Stadium between Thai Port and Bangkok Glass on Sunday evening. It will be the second return this season to Klong Toei for ex-TP favourite, Sarayoot. In the previous league game he received a mixed reception from the home fans. At that point in the season, Sarayoot hadn't found his feet yet at BG. In the last couple of months though, the BG striker has been bang in form and he will be aiming keep up his healthy goal scoring record of late. The FA Cup is BG's last realistic chance of silverware this season as they have already been knocked out of the Toyota League Cup. For that reason, I'm going to tip BG to snatch this tie by the odd goal.

In other action for Bangkok sides, BEC Tero face a potential banana skin as they travel to 2nd division Rayong FC while home advantage for Muangthong against Samut Prakarn Utd should comfortably see them through to the next round

Division 2 (Bangkok)
Prachinburi v Globex (Sat)
Assumption Thonburi v Kasetsart (Sat)
Nontaburi v Thai Fleet (Sat)
Thanyaburi Asia Utd v Raj Vithi (Sun)
NSRU v Kasem Bundit (Sun)
North Bangkok v Thai Airways Luk Issan (Mon)
Bangkok Christian v Jamjuree (Sun)
Maptaphut Rayong v Samut Prakarn Utd (Wed)

It's a case of top against bottom this weekend. Every match up has a club in the top half of the league against one from the bottom. There aren't many fixtures above that grab the eye, although the local derby between Bangkok Christian and Jamjuree is possibly the most intriguing. Bangkok Christian have had more success on the road this season. They will need to improve their home form if they're going to challenge for promotion.

Toyota League Cup Results:
(Last 32)
Suphanburi 1-0 Pattaya Utd
(Last 16 - 1st leg)
Chiang Mai 0-0 Buriram PEA
Muangthong 2-1 Kasetsart

EDIT: The ties at Buriram PEA, Kasetsart, Thai Port and Sisaket will be rescheduled to a later date. The other 3 gameas at Khon Kaen, Trang and Sriracha will go ahead as scheduled.
