Kasetsart's promotion bid took a body blow after North Bangkok's hard earned 2-0 win
The home side looked the more likely to take the lead early on as North Bangkok's keeper had to be on his toes to make a couple of saves.
However, it was North Bangkok who took the lead on twenty minutes when a corner caught Jakarin out of position leaving Sathaporn with a free header at the back post.
Kasetsart lost their way after the goal and a double substitution was made on the half hour mark with Tahi Tiacoh and Chawin replacing the ineffective Manit and the unfortunate Essomba who was hooked to allow another foreigner to enter the fray.
Nothing seemed to change and the visitors had a great chance to make it 2-0 seconds after the restart. A swift break down the right found Sathaporn in the middle, but the goalscorer's shot was saved by Jakarin.
The Emerald Nagas played their final substitution with 35 minutes left replacing Thanasak with Yuranan.
Kasetsart tried to throw bodies forward with many players rotating positions. Their pressing was creating few clear cut chances and the closest they came was from a Jakkaphan chip that landed on the roof of the net.
North Bangkok were holding out relatively comfortably and they had two great chances to double their advantage before they eventually put the game beyond doubt in the last minute.
A swift counter from Sathaporn set up Nirud, but his shot was blocked by the keeper. With seven minutes left, Teerasak watched his shot roll agonisingly past the post after he'd been left unmarked inside the box.
In the last minute, Pathoomchai rattled home from a tight angle after a corner had only been partially cleared into his path.
The only bright spot for Kasetsart this weekend was that main rivals NSRU and Nonthaburi both dropped points. Some of Kasetsart's play in the final third was poor and they'll need to be more creative in this area if they are to reach the playoffs.
North Bangkok now have the 6-6-6 record of wins, draws and loses. With performances like this, I'd expect the win column will be higher than the loses come the end of the season.
Man of the Match: Sathaporn - His pace on the break caused Kasetsart problems

North Bangkok 0-2 Korat
Korat's 2-0 victory over North Bangkok earned the Swatcats their place in Division 1 next season. Results from elsewhere conspired to work in favour for Korat and it now leaves an intriguing winner takes all game between Krabi and Rayong next weekend to see who goes up with Korat.
The game today bizarely started 4 minutes ahead of schedule and finished with a lunar eclipse visable in the Bangkok skyline. Both are rare occurrences and I wouldn't like to put my money on which one I will see next!!
The first half was fairly even and within a few minutes, the home side thought they had taken the lead, but their goal was ruled out for offside.
Korat had a couple of decent chances in the first period with a Prompong header striking the post, and shortly before the break, Marcel should have done better when he got to the ball before the advancing North Bangkok keeper, but he tamely screwed his shot wide from outside the area.
Ten minutes into the second half, Korat took the lead through a Jiranwut shot after he'd linked up well with Marcel.
The game was over 20 minutes from time when Marcel headed home a Jagkree corner.
Korat held out without any threat from North Bangkok as the Swatcat fans anxiously tried to find out results from elsewhere. Once the Krabi result came through, the players, officials and fans of Korat celebrated at the final whistle. I expect there will be a party atmosphere next week in Korat when they host Roi Et for their final game.

North Bangkok FC 1-3 Jamjuree United
North Bangkok FC lost their 3rd consecutive home game as their promotion challenge appears to be seriously derailing.
On the other hand, Jamjuree played well, especially in the second half, and on tonight's evidence, you have to wonder why they are currently languishing in mid-table.
The opening of the game was a cagey affair with both teams sitting back holding possession. The deadlock was broken on 30 minutes by Jamjuree with a headed goal from a free-kick. North Bangkok got a fortunate equalizer 5 minutes before half-time with a cruel ricochet off a Jamjuree defender.
On the hour mark, Jamjuree took the lead and after that there only looked like being one winner. The Chula boys wrapped the game up in injury time with a break away goal from their impressive striker, Attapol.
From what I've seen recently, none of the top 3 sides in the Bangkok 2nd division are playing with any mettle, and the promotion race for the play-offs is still wide open.
If I heard correctly from the tannoy, the ticket revenue for the game was only 5,500 baht. (Robbie Fowler's boot laces probably cost more than this!) Anyway, I was sat with the North Bangkok support and I have to say they are a unique bunch. To begin with, they probably have the youngest average age of any supporters in Thailand with a large proportion of them being young female students. In addition to that, there were several overly camp young men cavorting along to the beat of the home drum. In fact, they were that eccentric, they'd make Julian Clary feel heterosexual!! It's certainly a different spectrum from what you see at Thai Port or Chonburi.
