Chonburi became the first big casualty of the FA Cup after they lost 1-0 at Bangkok Glass. Peerapong's goal four minutes before the end of extra time saw Bangkok Glass oust 10 man Chonburi. Adul had earlier been dismissed for the Sharks in the 63rd minute for receiving two yellow cards.
Cup holders Buriram United had to come from behind to beat Chainat 2-1 while Muangthong Utd and BEC Tero had slightly easier evenings scoring a hat full of goals to dispatch fellow TPL opposition.
An early Danny Invincibile goal for Army helped them win 1-0 at Suphanburi while Police achieved the same scoreline at TOT courtesy of a Felipe header.
Chiang Rai Utd, Samut Songkhram and Osotspa Saraburi all submitted 2-0 home wins to knock out lower league opponents while Bangkok United needed penalties to see off regional league Prachuap.
The 5-4 between Trat and BBCU was actually the full time score after 90 minutes and not the result of a penalty shoot-out. Phuket, Singh Tarua and PTT Rayong also joined first division Trat in the hat for the next round.
The match between Phatthalung and Nakhon Ratchasima was abandoned at half time last night due to a floodlight failure. The match resumed at 9am this morning with the Swiftlets holding a 1-0 lead from last night. They managed to double that advantage earlier this morning and held out despite Nakhon Ratchasima grabbing a late consolation. Phatthalung are the only regional league side in the draw for the Last 16.
