Midweek Action

Muangthong United's AFC Cup adventure continues this evening when they meet Lebanon's double winners Al Ahed. It is a single leg match and then winner will progress to the quarter finals. MTU should start as favorites and an afternoon downpour at the Thunderdome would surely give the Thai side a strong advantage as the Lebanese team won't be use to playing on a wet pitch.

Meanwhile, Chonburi will host Siriwijawa of Indonesia at the Chonburi Stadium tomorrow night. The Indonesians scrapped into the last 16 after a dramatic 3-2 win against TSW Pegasus on the last day of qualifying. Home advantage should be enough to see the Sharks book their place in the last 8.

The TPL fixture between Thai Port and TTM Pichit was postponed last month and the rearranged game will take place tomorrow at the PAT Stadium at 4pm. A win for the Klong Toei boys would lift them into the top 10 for the first time this season. I expect there won't be a large attendance as it's impossible for a lot of people (myself included) to get away from work for the 4pm start. The early start is because the floodlights don't meet the TPL requirements. C'mon guys, open the piggy bank and sort the floodlights out!!!
