AFC Cup - Matchday 6 Preview

AFC Cup  - Group G
(Tuesday)
Home United v Chonburi
Yangon United v Citizen AA

With Chonburi and Home United both confirmed as qualifiers for the last 16, the remaining issue now is to determine who finishes in first place. Finishing top would guarantee the group winners a home tie in the last 16's one off match while the runners up would have to travel to either Syria, Iraq or Lebanon. None of the aforementioned destinations could be described as appealing, so winning Group G is essential for Chonburi. To accomplish this, the Sharks need to remain undefeated on their trip to the Bishan Stadium in Singapore. As Chonburi have failed to win an away match on seven previous attempts this year, a draw could be their most likely route to success.
The other game between Yangon United and Citizen AA is a deadwood match as both sides have little else than pride to play for.
